Covid-19 update

Start Smiling Chicago is still open and keeping appointments with patients who are well. We are closely monitoring updates regarding COVID-19 and are exercising universal precautions to ensure that our patients and staff remain safe.

SAFETY FIRST, AS ALWAYS

At Start Smiling Chicago, we are dedicated to ensuring the safety and peace of mind of our patients, staff, and communities. Since opening our Doctors and staff have prioritized hygiene above all else and taken universal precautions to avoid transmission of infectious disease.
 

To-date there have been no cases of COVID-19 in our clinic and we intend to keep it that way. Our staff is dedicated to taking preventative measures to ensure your safety. Our proactive approach includes:

​

  • following enhanced health and safety protocols, including Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) infection control guidelines to prevent the spread of coronavirus and other infectious diseases.

  • areas and surfaces are disinfected throughout the day. All treatment areas are disinfected, using a hospital-grade disinfectant approved by the EPA as effective against SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19, between patients.

  • employees frequently wash their hands, use hand sanitizer, and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

  • upon entering the clinic, Start Smiling Chicago staff screen each patient for exposure risk and reschedule patients who identify as potentially exposed.

  • staff are also screened daily. Any team members who are ill or have been potentially exposed are not permitted to come to work.

  • social distancing is being practiced inside the centers.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Whether visiting the clinic for a consultation or appointment, our staff will rely on you to do your part in ending the spread of COVID-19. Before entering the clinic, here is what to expect:

​

  • screened for symptoms or potential COVID-19 exposure, including measuring your temperature.

  • you may be asked to reschedule if you have symptoms or have potentially been exposed.

  • asked to wear a protective mask. Please bring a mask. If you do not have a mask, we can provide you with one.

  • asked to rinse your mouth twice with an antimicrobial mouth rinse.

PROTECT YOURSELF

We encourage our patients to further protect themselves by following the CDC’s guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19 including:

​

  • washing your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

  • avoiding close contact with people who are sick.

  • overing your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze and dispose of tissues after use.

  • disinfecting frequently touched surfaces.

FEELING UNWELL

If you need to reschedule your consultation or procedure, please don’t hesitate to call our team 847.386.6351. Know we want all our patients, staff, and community to prioritize their health, and we advise you reschedule if you:

​

  • feel unwell or have been (or potentially been) exposed to COVID-19.

  • have been traveling internationally within the past 14 days.

  • have dry cough, fever, shortness of breath.
